Layout Buddy Privacy Policy

Layout Buddy is a browser extension for visually inspecting webpage layouts, measuring spacing, testing responsive designs, capturing screenshots, and recording QA notes.
Data accessed
Layout Buddy may access the content and visual presentation of the webpage currently selected by the user. This includes DOM elements, computed CSS properties, dimensions, spacing, colors, typography, and screenshots explicitly captured by the user.
The extension may also process user-created notes, screenshot annotations, and element context associated with those notes.
How data is used
The accessed data is used only to provide the extension’s user-facing inspection, measurement, responsive preview, screenshot, annotation, and note-taking features.
Data storage
Notes and temporary context may be stored locally in the user’s Chrome profile using chrome.storage.local. Screenshot annotations are processed locally in the browser.
Layout Buddy does not maintain a backend server and does not upload webpage content, screenshots, notes, or browsing activity to the developer.
Data sharing
Layout Buddy does not sell, rent, share, or transfer user data to third parties.
Analytics and advertising
Layout Buddy does not use analytics, tracking technologies, advertising networks, or behavioral profiling.
Data retention and deletion
Locally stored notes remain in the browser until the user clears them or removes the extension. Users can clear notes from the extension’s Comments panel.
Permissions
Layout Buddy uses Chrome permissions only to provide its stated functionality. Access to a webpage occurs after the user explicitly activates the extension.
Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
